Monday Music is back!

Because what other way to procrastinate and avoid work then to blog?

After I saw them at the Virgin Music Festival I've taken a liking to the Scissor Sisters.

They're hugely popular in Europe but they're best known in the States for the song:
  • Take Your Mama Out
but I'm also grooving to:
  • Filthy/Gorgeous
  • Comfortably Numb (remake of course)
  • Better Luck
According to Wiki:
"All the singles came from the eponymous debut album Scissor Sisters, which reached #1 on the UK albums chart and became the best selling album of 2004, beating Keane's Hopes And Fears by just 582 copies. As of 2006, it is the 10th biggest-selling album of the 21st century, and the 51st biggest-selling of all time in the UK.[4] Several media outlets have noted that Scissor Sisters 'stick out like a sore thumb' on the list of artists who have sold over 2 million copies of an album in the UK in the 21st century — the others being James Blunt, Robbie Williams, Keane, Dido, Coldplay and Norah Jones — all artists considered 'mainstream' or 'middle of the road', as opposed to the Scissor Sisters' brash and controversial image. They have a new album out Ta-Dah which I'm gonna check out"

Anwhat'sts with their name?
Wiki: "The group is named after a sex position between two women - tribadism. The initial full name was Dead Lesbian and the Fibrillating Scissor Sisters."

How can you not like a band with a namoriginin like that?

I learned it by watching you!

Best PSA EVER!

The final line became embedded in me and my brother's interactions as kids, and even now still pops up once in awhile. From eating cereal, to reading, to picking a wedgie.....it all started with, "who taught you how to do this?" and ended with the "From you! I learned it by watching you!"
Priceless. Just Priceless.

found a link to it on Pop Candy today.

LOST in the sky?

Snapped this in NYC Sunday. There was a large sentence of sky writing but the only readable word was LOST. A LOST promotion perhaps?
Wouldn't be the first time sky writing or other odd things have been done to promote shows/movies.

The countdown continues.....

Cheesy Joke Friday V

This video has one of my all time favorite knock knock jokes.
And the other two aren't bad either :)

I think these guys Barats and Bereta are hilarious. I love this Mother's Day Post as well.

Everything's Not LOST

Some lost stuff to digest.

From Frankie:
UK Promo for LOST (if you search youtube for UK Promo, there are lots of versions with different music)

Conan's opening sketch at the Emmy's:

From Pop Candy:

Apparently Mr. Eko isn't the best driver. At least it wasn't drunk driving. Otherwise I'd expect his character to be killed off soon.
Did you know there are LOST games? Trivia, Puzzles and 'Mission Survival'.

LESS than a month left!!!!

(I hope somebody gets their surround sound set up before then)

Cheesy Joke Friday IV

A la Pulp Fiction:

So there's Papa Tomato, Momma Tomato and Baby Tomato walking along the street. Baby Tomato starts lagging behind, and Papa Tomato starts getting really
angry. So, he turns around and squishes Baby Tomato and says,
'Ketchup!'
